Bookmakers slash odds on German superstar making Man United switch

Whether or not Germany and VfL Wolfsburg attacker Julian Draxler is even considering a move to Old Trafford remains to be seen, but Manchester United fans can take some comfort knowing that the bookmakers feel confident that a move is in the works.

According to the Mirror, a spokesperson for the bwin sportsbook revealed that odds on Draxler joining Man United have been slashed – dropping from 11/1 to just 3/1 in a matter of hours due to the influx of wagers on the potential move.

“Due to being inundated with bets, the firm has had to slash odds from 11/1 to 3/1,” the rep said.

Draxler scored six goals in 23 Bundesliga matches for Wolfsburg after making a switch from Schalke 04 late last summer. The scoring tally was the second-highest of his career after a 2012-13 performance for Schalke.

On the international level, Draxler has been capped 22 times and has scored two goals – with his most recent goal coming this past Sunday in a 3-0 win over Slovakia in the Euro 2016 knockout round.

According to Goal, Man United recently made a £30 million bid for the Wolfsburg and Germany attacking midfielder.
