Liverpool interested in AC Milan defender after strong Euro 2016 showing

Among the many strong performers in Euro 2016 has been Italy and AC Milan full-back Mattia De Sciglio, who played a big role in Italy’s 2-0 win over Spain this past week. His strong play has earned him the attention of Liverpool, who are contemplating a move for the Italian defender.

According to the Metro, Liverpool are interested in a move for De Sciglio after his strong showing for Italy in Euro 2016. The 23-year-old defender has has made three appearances for Antonio Conte’s side in the tournament this year and has been capped 25 times in total for Italy since 2013.

De Sciglio has also started more than half of AC Milan’s matches in Serie A over the past two seasons and was named to the Serie A Team of the Year in the 2012-13 season.

Liverpool are in the market for a defender after having released veteran centre-back Kolo Toure and with the status of Mamadou Sakho up in the air.
