Father of £80m Man United & Real Madrid target gives thoughts on transfer race

Juventus star midfielder Paul Pogba is poised to be one of the most expensive transfers in football history if the reports of the figure are accurate. With so many voices likely in his ear as he ponders his next move, Pogba’s father has decided to chime in.

According to the Metro, Fassou Antoine Pogba was asked what he thinks about a potential move to Real Madrid – to which the 23-year-old star’s father called the prospect ‘interesting’ for the Pogba family.

‘For the family it would be interesting,’ Pogba said.

Fassou Pogba said that the family hopes the Juventus star ultimately plays in the ‘best league’ – though he did not specify which league that was – and said it would ultimately be Paul’s decision.

‘What we want is that he plays in the best league. He decides.’

Per the source, Pogba is the subject of an £80 million bid from Manchester United, but Real Madrid remain the favorites to sign him.

Pogba played for Manchester United at the academy level from 2009 to 2011 before making his senior debut in the 2011-12 season. But he was sold to Juventus the following season and has since emerged as one of Europe’s best midfielders.
