Derby County midfielder Will Hughes has been a solid player in the Championship division for several years now, and has apparently caught the eye of Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.
According to Sun Sport, Mourinho is interested in bringing in Hughes and has made a request to be kept informed of Hughes’ progress over the coming weeks.
Per the source, Derby County will demand around £7 million for their 21-year-old midfield star if Man United want to make an offer.
In 122 appearances for Derby County since 2011, Hughes has scored seven goals. However, this past season he was held to just a handful of appearances after missing six months to an ACL tear.
Hughes has also been a mainstay on England’s Under-21 team since 2012, making 17 caps and scoring twice for the Three Lions.
Mourinho has already made three big signings since taking over the top job at Old Trafford earlier this summer: Eric Bailly from Villarreal, Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund and most notably Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.
