Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata will hold talks with head coach Jose Mourinho regarding his future according to La Liga journalist Guillem Balague.

Balague was asked by an Everton fan on Twitter what he made of Mata being linked with a move to the Toffees.

Everton are interested in signing Mata from United this summer according to The Telegraph.

The report claims that Everton are willing to offer €20 million for the 29-year-old attacking midfielder and that Mourinho has no plans for Mata at United next season.

The Portuguese head coach did of course sell Mata to United in January 2014 during his second spell at Chelsea.

Balague is however, not convinced that he will join the Toffees just yet and underlined that the Spanish international will discuss his options with Mourinho before making any decision.

The talks are set to go ahead on Wednesday after which Mata’s future will be determined.
