Exclusive: Man Utd & Man City send scouts to watch Turkish side in U16 tournament

Manchester United and Manchester City joined Red Bull Leipzig, Augsburg and Freiburg in sending scouts to the Czech Republic to monitor on Altinordu youth players at the U16 All Star Cup tournament final a source close to the club told Emre Sarigul.

The Turkish second-tier side have a club philosophy which focuses solely on home grown players. The ultimate goal of the club is to comprise a side made up entirely of players developed by the club.

Altinordu have caught the attention of numerous Premier League side including City, Liverpool, Stoke City and Norwich City who have sent scouts to keep tabs on the academy recently.

City were closely linked with Ça?lar Söyüncu a source close to the player revealed prior to his move to Freiburg.

The young defender was also called up to the Turkey Euro 2016 squad this summer.

City are also reported to be interested in 15-year-old goalkeeper Berk Ozer according to club president Seyit Mehmet Ozkan.

Ozkan told Turkish newspaper Milliyet: “Manchester City and a few German sides want Berke Ozer.”
