Exclusive: Southampton face competition from Turkey for Dutch star

Southampton have been linked with a move for the Netherlands international striker Bas Dost according the ESPN.

However, a source close to the player has told Caught-Offsides Eren Sarigul that the 27-year-old has also received offers from other Premier League sides and the Turkish side Besiktas.

The source also revealed that Wolfsburg have rejected all advances for their star man and have no intention of offloading Bas Dost this summer.

Southampton are understood to be looking for a new striker following reports linking Graziano Pelle with a move away from Saint Mary’s. The Mirror have reported that both Chelsea and Everton are interested in signing the Italy international.

Wolfsburg signed Bas Dost from SC Heerenveen for £6 million back in July 2012. The 27-year-old provided two assists and scored ten goals in 31 appearances for the Bundesliga side in all competitions.

The Wolves finished last season in eight place meaning that they will be without European football in the upcoming season.
