(Image) Arsenal team-mates comfort heartbroken Germany star

Germany ace Mesut Ozil was left disappointed on Thursday night, as his side fell to a 2-0 defeat to France in their Euro 2016 semi-final clash in Marseille.

The 27-year-old was one of the best players on the pitch, but couldn’t help inspire the Germans to a win to secure their place in the final against Portugal.

Instead, the hosts will go on to feature in Paris on Sunday night, but that didn’t get in the way of club team-mates looking out for one another.

Ozil was comforted by caring souls Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny after the full-time whistle in a nice moment between the Gunners trio.

While their efforts to cheer their rival for the night up probably didn’t go down too well, Ozil will undoubtedly have appreciated the sentiment.

The Arsenal trio will report for pre-season training later this month, as they return to playing on the same side and will look to play influential roles in the Gunners’ pursuit of silverware next season.
