West Ham in £20m hunt for talented Napoli striker

Seemingly determined to become a serious contender for the Premier League title this coming season, West Ham United are making big bids all over Europe for the best strikers available. With Manolo Gabbiadini playing second-fiddle to Gonzalo Higuain at Napoli, West Ham are ready to pounce and make a strong bid.

According to the Sun, West Ham United are offering Napoli around £20 million for Gabbiadini – and have pulled ahead of Premier League rivals Stoke City in the chase.

The 23-year-old Gabbiadini has played his entire seven-year football career in Serie A, scoring 49 goals in 171 league appearances. Overall he has 62 goals in 195 total appearances.

On the international level, Gabbiadini has scored one goal in six caps for Italy since 2012.

West Ham are in need of more striker options this coming season as leading scorers Dimitri Payet and Andy Carroll would only manage nine goals apiece in the Premier League. They will also need more striker depth for their Europa League ambitions.
