Man United can land French superstar for £25.5m transfer fee

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi could be on the outs in his native France with new manager Unai Emery poised to overhaul the roster. But PSG’s loss could very well be Manchester United’s gain if they’re willing to pay the right price for him.

According to the Metro via Get French Football News, Matuidi could complete a deal to Man United for £25.5 million, as long as the 29-year-old midfielder is ready and willing to accept a year without Champions League football.

Matuidi scored four goals and made six assists in Ligue 1 this past year, as well as two more assists in nine Champions League appearances. Over his five-year stint with PSG, he has scored 19 league goals and 26 total goals while adding 20 assists.

On the international level, Matuidi has been capped 50 times for France and has scored eight goals. He has been featured in each of France’s six Euro 2016 matches and provided an assist in the team’s 5-2 win over Iceland.
