Exclusive: Besiktas waiting for Gokhan Tore transfer before announcing Man City defender

Besiktas are waiting for the completion of Gokhan Tore’s transfer to West Ham before making an announcement regarding efforts to sign Manchester City full-back Aleksander Kolarov a source close to the Istanbul giants told Emre Sarigul.

Tore is expected to join West Ham tomorrow on a one-year temporary move which will include a loan fee expected to fetch £3-4 million.

Besiktas are under a three-year assessment from FFP and must be careful regarding their spending. The Black Eagles are intent on keeping Kolarov’s transfer fee and wages as low as possible.

City are expected to give Kolarov the green light to leave and talks between Besiktas and the Serbian international have reached an advanced level.

Besiktas are keen on strengthening their defence over the summer after conceding the highest number of goals in the top three last season despite winning the league title.

The Istanbul giants won the Super Lig championship last season and will compete in the 2016-17 Champions League.
