Mesut Ozil sends support to Arsenal teammates following Euro 2016 final

Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to send his support to his Arsenal teammates following France’s 1-0 defeat to Portugal in the Euro 2016 final.

Both Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud were on the losing side in the final which ended 0-0 after 90 minutes. The former Swansea City striker Eder scored the only goal of the game during extra-time.

Ozil took to Twitter after the game to offer his support to  Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud.

The 27-year-old was part of the Germany side which went out in the semi-finals. Ozil ended the the tournament with one goal and one assist.

Joachim Low’s side were eliminated by the hosts France by a 2-0 scoreline. Ozil is currently spending his summer break in Los Angeles and will join Arsenal’s pre-season training camp later this month.

Ozil finished last season as the leading assist provider in the Premier League (19) and was name Arsenal player of the season.
