Lazio midfielder Ogneyi Onazi has attracted the interest of clubs across Europe according to his agent but he did not confirm whether the West Ham and Sunderland were the Premier League sides interested in his client.

West Ham and Sunderland have both been closely linked with Onazi recently following a report from Talksport.

Onazi’s agent Stephen Makinwa told Emre Sarigul that there is a lot of interest for the 23-year-old midfielder but could not confirm an offer from the Hammers and Sunderland.

“I cannot confirm that [West Ham and Sunderland],” Makinwa said.

The agent did however, confirm that Super Lig champions are interested in the 2013 African Cup of Nations winner.

“Onazi has almost 40 caps for Nigeria at the age of 23 so interest from clubs across Europe is to be expected. What I can say is that Besiktas are one of the sides interested,” he added.

“There are many clubs interested in the Onazi including from England,” Makinwa said.

Several other clubs including Everton, Southampton, Swansea and Greek giants Panathinaikos have also been liked with Onazi.

Lazio are reported to be open to the sale of Onazi but want to raise at least £7 million for the central midfielder.

Onazi only played a total of 22 games in all appearances for Lazio last season in all competitions and has been linked with a summer exit but he does have another two-years remaining on his contract.
