Chelsea striker set to stay at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea’s Spanish international striker Diego Costa looks set to stay at Stamford Bridge according to The Sun.

The report states that Costa has joined Chelsea’s new boss Antonio Conte’s pre-season training camp. The 27-year-old has been linked with a return to La Liga following a difficult Premier League campaign. Atletico Madrid are among a host of clubs interested in Costa’s services according to another report by the Sun.

Chelsea’s new manager Antonio Conte officially starts his job on Wednesday and is expected to bring the intense training regime which brought him much success at Juventus, to West London.

The former Italy national team manager and his team will travel to Austria on Friday for the Blues first set of friendly games.

The 27-year-old striker who joined the West London club from Atletico Madrid for £32 million, underwent a pre-season medical examination on Monday. Costa provided 11 assists and scored 16 goals in 41 appearances for Chelsea last season.
