Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has sent scouts to keep tabs on 17-year-old West Ham youngster Reece Oxford at the under-19s European Championships according to the Mirror.

Oxford will be representing England at the tournament which will be based in Germany.

The youth tournament will start on Friday and Mourinho is reported to be keen on the youngster who currently has another two-years remaining on his West Ham contract.

Oxford made a name for himself in the opening weekend of the season starring in the Hammers win over London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League.

West Ham reportedly turned down a £10 million offer from Bundesliga outfit Red Bull Leipzig earlier in the summer and are intent on keeping hold of their rising star.

The 17-year-old made a total of 12 senior appearances for the East London based outfit this season.

The Hammers are intent on keeping their biggest and most promising players over the summer including Dimitri Payet.
