Between Lionel Messi’s legal woes, Luis Suarez’s summer injuries and Neymar’s impending trip to Zika Virus-stricken Brazil, Barcelona fans are having a very antsy summer after failing to defend their Champions League crown. However, the team is hard at work trying to land some young talent to return them to the top of the mountain, and are close to a deal for a versatile French superstar.
According to Sun Sport, Barcelona are closing in on a deal for Paris Saint-Germain defender/midfielder Lucas Digne, with a five-year contract expected to be signed tomorrow while a £16.5 million transfer fee is agreed upon this week.
Digne spent the 2015-16 season on loan to Roma, where he made 29 Serie A appearances and scored three goals while adding three assists. In his two prior seasons with PSG, Digne made 29 Ligue 1 appearances and 43 total appearances.
The 22-year-old Digne will be joined at Camp Nou his France teammate Samuel Umtiti, who officially made the switch from Lyon to Barcelona on earlier this summer.
