Everton suffer transfer blow as Ajax issue hands off warning on star striker

Everton may have to look elsewhere for a new striker after Ajax issued a hands off warning to clubs targeting their star striker Arkadiusz Milik.

According to the Daily Mail, the Polish international striker who has been courted by Everton, will not be leaving Ajax this summer. The report goes onto state that Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars has received assurances from the player that he will not seek to leave the club this summer.

The 22-year-old striker was Ajax’s top scorer last season with 24 goals and has three years remaining on his contract which expires in July 2019.

Ajax signed the in-demand striker from Bayer Leverkusen for £2.4 million back in 2015 after he spent a season-long loan at the club. Milik was in impressive form last season having scored 21 goals in 31 Eredivisie games for Ajax.

Milik also made four appearances at this summers Euro 2016 competition representing the Poland national team.
