Man United identify Paul Pogba alternative in case transfer talks break down

Manchester United talks regarding a summer transfer for Paul Pogba are ongoing, but the Red Devils have a Plan B in case a deal for the Juventus midfielder fails to materialise.

That’s according to le10sport.com, who claim that United will target Newcastle star Moussa Sissoko as a backup option if Pogba proves to be a no-go.

Pogba and Sissoko played alongside each other for France at Euro 2016, helping the host nation reach the final, where they lost to Portugal.

Both men impressed for their country at the tournament, but they had very difficult seasons at club level.

Pogba powered Juve to an Italian double, scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists in 35 Serie A games.

Meanwhile, Sissoko was relegated with Newcastle, although he came up with seven assists and one goal in 37 Premier League appearances.

If what le10sport say is true, Pogba is understandably United’s first choice.

As well as being a much better player, Pogba has youth on his side – he only turned 23 in March, while Sissoko will be 27 in August.
