Arsenal eye £55m move for talented Euro 2016 star

Arsenal are eyeing a £55 million move for Wolfsburg’s star midfielder Julian Draxler according to The Mirror.

The report states that the Bundesliga giants have hinted that they are willing to accept a bid for the Germany international this summer. The tabloid paper also states that Wolfsburg are demanding a fee in the region of £55 million.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been a long term admirer of the 22-year-old who starred for Germany at Euro 2016 this summer.

Despite playing for club and country as an attacking midfielder, Wenger views Draxler as a solution to his search for a new striker.

Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs was quoted by the Mirror as saying that financial troubles may force the club to sell their star asset.

“Clearly we have a lot to talk about. There were a few issues that have emerged in the past.” Allofs said.

Arsenal are on the look out for a new striker after missed out on Jamie Vardy last month. Draxler provided eight assists and scored nine goals in 35 appearances for Wolfsburg last season.
