Arsenal injury crisis: Three key forwards all doubts for start of season

Arsenal are facing an injury crisis ahead of the upcoming season following news stating that Alexis Sanchez could miss the start of the season.

According to the Mirror, Sanchez is battling to recover from an injury he suffered while playing for Chile in this summers Copa America.

Sanchez sustained an ankle injury during Chile’s Copa America final win over Leo Messi’s Argentina.

To make matters worse the daily newspaper states that Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck are also likely to miss the opening weeks of the season due to injury. The absentees mean Theo Walcott will be Arsenal’s only option up-front unless Arsene Wenger invests in a news striker.

Arsenal could also be without Mesut Ozil and Laurent Koscielny who have been given extended leave following their efforts in Euro 2016.

The Mirror goes onto say that Arsenal have set their sights on signing either Gonzalo Higuain or Julian Draxler.
