Galatasaray star Lukas Podolski left Arsenal last season but he has clearly not forgotten about his time in North London if one of his recent tweet is anything to go by.

The Germany international striker shared a tweet on his official twitter account celebrating winning the World Cup alongside his former Arsenal – and current Germany – team-mates Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker – both also Germany international teammates – alongside the caption: “#redarmy #onceagunnerlawaysagunner”.

Germany could not go all the way this time around but did make it to the semi-finals where they were defeated by hosts France.

The powerful striker found the back of the net 31 times and provided 17 assists in 81 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions. The 29-year-old was part of the Gunners 2014-15 FA Cup winning side.

Podolski scored 17 times and provided 10 assists for Galatasaray in all competitions last season including the winning goal in the Turkish Cup final against arch rivals Fenerbahce.
