Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is keen on being reunited with his former midfielder Cesc Fabregas according to Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 28-year-old attacking midfielder could be forced to leave as recently appointed manager Antonio Conte is expected to transfer list him.

Mourinho and Fabregas enjoyed a close relationship over the past two seasons during the Portuguese international’s time in charge of Chelsea.

Fabregas won the league title and the Capital One Cup under the stewardship of Mourinho. The former Chelsea boss was however, sacked after a disappointing start to last season.

The Spanish international midfielder was targeted by United back in 2013 when David Moyes was in charge of the club but he failed to land the former Barcelona and Arsenal man.

Fabregas was United’s top transfer target back in 2013 when David Moyes had recently taken over from Sir Alex Ferguson but the Red Devils failed to get their man on that occasion.
