Barcelona on verge of completing fourth summer signing in move for ace from La Liga rivals

Atletico Madrid striker Luciano Vietto is reportedly close to becoming Barcelona’s fourth summer signing after the two parties reached an agreement.

Following a meeting between the player’s agents and Barca sporting director Robert Fernandez, personal terms were agreed upon and now it is down to the two clubs finding a deal on the transfer fee.

According to Sport, Vietto is keen to push through the transfer and play at the Nou Camp next season, as he looks to secure a move to feature alongside compatriot and idol Lionel Messi.

However, although he has done his part by reportedly agreeing to personal terms, it remains to be seen whether or not an agreement can be reached between the two clubs.

A loan move was initially reported, but it is claimed by Sport that a transfer hasn’t been ruled out at this stage and in turn negotiations will continue.

Despite battling it out for domestic honours in recent years, it’s noted that the relations between the two clubs are strong, which should allow them to move forward with talks in amicable fashion.

Having done business together over Arda Turan last year, the two parties will seemingly have no issue in talking transfers this summer provided that it benefits both sides.

An agreement in the coming days is therefore possible, with Barca boss Luis Enrique looking to bolster his attacking options with a fourth forward as soon as possible.

Despite boasting Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, the Spanish tactician wants depth and an alternative, and he’ll hope Vietto can be a success at the Nou Camp in the coming years if a transfer can be wrapped up this summer.
