N’Golo Kante signs for Chelsea: Blues director describes £32m arrival as perfect for Antonio Conte’s tactics

As N’Golo Kante signs for Chelsea, the French midfielder is described as a “perfect fit’ by Blues director Michael Emenalo.

Chelsea have won the battle to sign one of the stars of last season’s Premier League.

France international N’Golo Kante has signed a five-year-contract at Stamford Bridge, according to the official Chelsea website.

Kante is a defensive midfielder who is full of energy – something that Chelsea’s ageing midfield lacked last season.

However, to simply describe Kane as energetic would be disrespectful, because he also possesses excellent positional awareness, tackling and passing skills.

And, according to Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo, Kante will suit the tactics of new manager Antonio Conte down to the ground.

Emenalo told Chelsea.FC.com: “N’Golo is a fantastic signing ahead of the new season and we are delighted to have been able to bring such a talented player to the club.

“He is a perfect fit in terms of Antonio Conte’s philosophies and the style of football he wants to play.

“For a player of his age he has already built up a wealth of experience and his exceptional quality will without doubt be a great addition to the team.”

Yesterday it was reported by Sky Sports that Chelsea and Leicester had agreed a £32m transfer fee for Kante, who made 41 appearances during his one and only campaign with the Foxes.
