Tottenham in talks to sign 21-year-old winger but potential £11m deal could hit stumbling block

Sources in France have confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Marseille over the signing of winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou.

The Guardian reported yesterday that Spurs had agreed an £11m deal with Marseille and that the player was due in London for a medical this week.

Sky Sports claims that N’Koudou has been on Tottenham’s radar for some time after he caught their eye while they were scouting Michy Batshuayi.

Batshuayi ended up at Chelsea, and Sky Sports understands that there is a scenario where 21-year-old N’Koudou would not arrive at White Hart Lane either.

According to Sky Sports, Marseille will not sell without first finding a replacement, and their initial attempts to do this have been blocked, by Spurs.

The same source reports that the Ligue 1 side want to sign Tottenham forward Clinton N’Jie on loan, but this is proving a sticking point in the negotiations.

The 22-year-old joined Spurs from Lyon last summer and injuries prevented him from making a single Premier League start, or finding the net in any competition.

But N’Jie wants to stay and fight for his place under Mauricio Pochettino, who still have high hopes that the Cameroonian international can make an impact.
