The newly promoted Middlesbrough side Middlesbrough are set to complete the signing of Alvaro Negredo from Valencia according to the Daily Mail.

The report states that the 30-year-old is set to undergo a medical and put pen-to-paper on a season-long loan move to Middlesbrough.

Negredo has been omitted from Valencia’s pre-season friendly squad and is set to join the newly promoted Premier League ‘side’s training camp in Marbella.

The Boro have also included an £8 million option to sign Negredo at the end of the season.

Middlesbrough’s deal will include a first option to buy the Spain international for £8million at the end of the season.

Negredo will be well known to Premier League fans following his spell at Manchester City during the 2013-14 season. Despite falling out of favour towards the end of the season, Negredo ended up scoring 23 goals League title.
