Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez wants to stay at the Premier League champions next season according to head coach Claudio Ranieri.

Ranieri revealed that Mahrez wants to stay and that he is happy at the club following his sides 2-1 win over Oxford United in a pre-season friendly played on Monday.

“I think everybody here is happy and it’s finished, the market is finished,” Ranieri was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail [via Sky Sports].

“Yes he [Mahrez] wants to stay.”

Mahrez still has another three-years remaining on his current contract but Arsenal and Chelsea have both been closely linked with the Algerian international.

The Evening Standard meanwhile claim that while Leicester have no intention in selling Mahrez they would only consider an offer in excess of £45 million.

The Leicester attacking midfielder found the back of the net 17 times and set up 11 goals for the Premier League champions last season.

The Foxes signed him for just €450,000 and he went onto become one of the stars of the season over the last league campaign.
