Barcelona recall Arsenal target ahead of schedule

Barcelona have recalled Arda Turan to training earlier than expected as the club look to get the 29-year-old fit going into the new season.

According to the Spanish outlet Sport, the experienced midfielder is the only international player that featured in Euro 2016 who was asked to return on Monday.

The Turkish international will travel with the Barca squad to England as part of their pre-season tour and is expected to star against Scottish giants Celtic in Dublin on July 30.

There is confusion over whether Turan will remain at Barcelona next summer or leave. Mundo Deportivo report that the La Liga champions will listen to offers for Turan that match their £20 million valuation.

Per the source, fellow Premier League outfit Chelsea are also reported to be in the race.

The bearded midfielder does have another four-years remaining on his current contract but he has hinted in the past that he would be keen on Premier League football – in particular living in London.

Turan revealed that he was looking for a house in the city in an interview with Hürriyet back in March 2015.

“I am thinking about buying a house in London nothing too fancy something like a 180 square meter flat I just would like a place in London,” Turan said.
