Tottenham transfer news: Suitor found for dispensable attacker; £5m difference in valuation

Swansea City have reportedly reignited their interest in Tottenham Hotspur forward Nacer Chadli.

The Times understands that the Swans have made a bid in the region of £10m for the Belgian international, who turned down a loan move to the Liberty Stadium in January 2014 [Sky Sports].

But The Mirror claims that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants £15m for Chadli, who cost Spurs only £7m when he arrived from FC Twente in 2013 as part of the post-Gareth Bale spending spree.

Chadli has scored 25 goals in 119 games for the Lilywhites, but only 10 of his 29 Premier League appearances last season were starts as he fell down Mauricio Pochettino’s pecking order and missed out on Belgium’s Euro 2016 squad.

As Sky Sports reports, Marseille winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou is poised to arrive to increase the competition for places, and The Telegraph says that either Chadli or Son Heung-Min will be let go.

Levy is an expert at getting the best possible selling price, but £15m, which would be a record fee for Swansea, seems to be the market value considering the fees spent elsewhere this summer.
