Former Manchester United striker offered to Barcelona in blow to mid-table Premier League duo

Alleged Premier League target Robin van Persie has reportedly been offered to Barcelona.

Spanish publication Sport, cited by Sky Sports, claim that the Catalan giants are looking for a fourth-choice striker to play deputy to the prolific trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.

Van Persie left Manchester United to join Fenerbahce last summer, but is now looking to leave the Turkish giants after one season of 22 goals in 48 appearances, according to Sky Sports.

The 32-year-old Dutchman is said to be available for €10m, and has spoken to both Stoke City and West Ham United over a return to the Premier League, which was thought to be his preference.

But an approach from Barcelona is sure to turn the former Arsenal captain’s head and deal a blow to his ambitious English suitors. A career swansong at the Camp Nou would be difficult to pass up!

Messi, Neymar and Suarez scored 131 goals between them in all competitions last season. With Van Persie to call upon from the bench, Barcelona’s firepower would be even more unstoppable!
