Borussia Dortmund picked up a 4-1 win over Manchester United in their International Champions Cup meeting at the Shanghai Stadium on Friday.
The Bundesliga outfit were deserved winners with Gonzalo Castro bagging a brace while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele rounded off the victory.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan was able to slot home what turned out to be nothing more than a consolation goal against his former club, but there were no second guesses for the winner of the goal of the game.
Dembele arrived at Dortmund last month with big expectations, with the 19-year-old showing his potential at Rennes last season.
With so much change in Thomas Tuchel’s squad this summer, the youngster will likely have an important role to play for the club immediately, and he appears up for the challenge.
Both clubs put out strong teams, albeit ruining the spectacle with a string of substitutions throughout the game. While it was ultimately just a pre-season fitness drill with neither coach taking too much away from it, Tuchel certainly saw more positives with Mourinho left to ponder a few selections for the remainder of the tournament.
