Liverpool will be without star striker Daniel Sturridge going into the International Champions Cup clash against Chelsea at the Rose Bowl according to ESPN.

Per the source, Sturridge has been left out as a precautionary measure but will continue training at the team base in Palo Alto.

The England international is expected to feature against Italian giants AC Milan in Santa Clara next Saturday.

Liverpool will also be without forwards Christian Benteke and Divock Origi while summer signing Georginio Wijnaldum will also miss the game against Chelsea.

Emre Can has returned to the squad after returning from holiday but it remains to be seen whether he will feature against the Blues.

Can had an extended break after reaching the Euro 2016 semi-final against hosts France.

The 23-year-old midfielder travelled to Turkey where he met family and friends before moving onto the US where he has been enjoying time off in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
