Rangers & Stoke target Robin van Persie set to stay in Turkey

Rangers became the latest side to be linked with Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie when his betting odds to join the Scottish giants were slashed.

A source close to the Fenerbahce has however, told Emre Sarigul that Van Persie is happy in Turkey and expected to stay at the club. The Yellow Canaries held talks with Van Persie and his agent following a loan bid with Stoke City and agreed for the striker to remain at the club next season.

The 32-year-old striker still has another two-years remaining on his current deal and is almost certain to be given a star role for Fenerbahce.

The Yellow Canaries finished last season as runners-up and booked a place in the Champions League qualification stage as a result.
