Agent denies Liverpool star’s rift with Jurgen Klopp as he insists future is at Anfield

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho’s agent has insisted that his client didn’t have an argument with Jurgen Klopp and he will remain with the Reds.

The French international was sent home from the club’s pre-season tour of the USA last week, and in turn it naturally led to doubts surfacing over his future at the club.

Responding to speculation that he might be moving to Roma, his agent, Niakate Housseyni, has dismissed talk of a move away from Anfield and played down the situation with Klopp.

“No, I haven’t had any contact with Roma,” he told LaRoma24. “He didn’t have an argument with his manager, Jurgen Klopp.

“So he’ll stay at Liverpool? Yes, he’s a Liverpool player. I don’t think Roma have that opportunity right now.”

Roma suffered a setback this week after new signing Mario Rui suffered a serious ACL injury which will ensure that he spends a significant spell on the sidelines.

In turn, Luciano Spalletti will have to consider his options to bolster his defence to cover the loss, and that ultimately what appears to have led to the Sakho link.

The 26-year-old was sent home from the US due to several instances of poor timekeeping, and so it remains to be seen whether or not the situation can resolved with an end result of the former PSG ace returning to the fold for the first-team.

Based on his agent’s comments, it appears as though Sakho will remain at Anfield for the time being, although by ruling out just Roma, Housseyni didn’t entirely dismiss the idea of an exit to another club.
