Liverpool striker slammed and rejected by Besiktas boss

Besiktas’ experinced manager Senol Gunes has made it crystal clear that he has no intention of signing Mario Balotelli this summer from Liverpool.

The former Turkey national team boss said that he was yet to hear anything positing about Balotelli and has never been interested in loaning him to the club.

“Balotelli is not part of my plans,” Gunes was quoted as saying by EuroSport.

“I don’t have a favourable opinion of him. I have never heard anything positive about him.”

Balotelli is currently enjoying an extended summer break in Italy and has not been included in the squad for Liverpool’s pre-season tour of America.

The 25-year-old was once regarded as one of the best young strikers in world football but his career has been in rapid decline.

Besiktas are on the hunt for a new striker after last seasons star Mario Gomez departed the club after a successful loan spell last season.

The Istanbul giants won the league title last season and booked a place in the Champions League group stage in the process.
