Arsenal players who disappoint Arsene Wenger this season could get cut, but not just from the Frenchman’s team.
Wenger now has a tool to cut them for real, after being given a rather scary sword prior to Arsenal’s preseason win over Viking FC on Friday.
The massive weapon was presented to Wenger on the pitch, before he raised it aloft like a trophy.

Arsenal’s gift to Wenger’s counterpart was much less conducive to murder. The Gunners gave their Norwegian opponents a silver plate.
Wenger’s sword potentially motivated his players, because they ran out 8-0 winners.
Joel Campbell and Alex Iwobi scored two goals each, while Theo Walcott, Chuba Akpom and Santi Cazorla, who also had a penalty saved, bagged one apiece.
The Gunners were further aided by an own goal from Michael Haukas.
Arsenal will complete their preseason schedule on Sunday when they take on Premier League rivals Manchester City in Sweden.
Wenger’s men are so far unbeaten in four summer friendlies, having recorded wins over an MLS All-Stars side, Mexican outfit Guadalajara and now Viking, after opening their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Lens.
