(Image) American fans continually mistake Chelsea midfielder for £33m striker

Chelsea bolstered their striking options impressively earlier this summer when they signed Michy Batshuayi from Marseille.

Batshuayi was bought for £33m, according to the Daily Mail, but the true cost was much greater.

That’s because Nathaniel Chalobah paid with his identity.

Chalobah is no longer known as a promising midfielder.

The 21-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Napoli, is now known as ‘that Chelsea player who looks like Michy Batshuayi’.

Chalobah used Twitter to explain that American fans have continually mistaken him for Batshuayi during Chelsea’s preseason tour of the States, where the Blues beat Liverpool and AC Milan, but lost to Real Madrid.

In truth, Chalobah and Batshuayi are both winners because they have formed what appears to be a strong bromance.
