(Video) Sadio Mane scores 1st Liverpool goal as Reds play Barca at their own game

Barcelona are used to scaring their opponents to death with hard pressing and quick passing.

Most opponents usually get so preoccupied with trying to stop the La Liga champions that they forget to actually attack them.

Not Liverpool. Not today at least.

Jurgen Klopp’s men decided to have a good go at Barca during the first half of this evening’s preseason glamour clash at Wembley.

Liverpool have so far played Barca at their own game.

And they are winning.

The Reds broke the deadlock on 15 minutes when Adam Lallana played in Roberto Firmino, before the Brazilian returned to ball to the England midfielder, who fed Sadio Mane to spank home his first ever goal for his new club.

Liverpool’s breakthrough was much deserved, but Barca have since applied plenty of pressure at the other end, where Simon Mignolet has produced a fine save to deny former Red Luis Suarez.

Nevertheless, Klopp’s side have continued to pose an attacking threat of their own and Philippe Coutinho very nearly made it 2-0 just after half-hour.
