Man Utd star wins 31st title with debut goal

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored on his official debut to win the Charity Shield title for Manchester United against Premier League champions Leicester City.

Ibrahimovic scored the winner on 83 minutes with a powerful header to make the score 2-1.

The 34-year-old striker has now won a whopping 31 titles spanning five different countries.

Ibrahimovic’s full trophy list is as follows:

Ajax: 2 Eredivisie titles, 1 Dutch Cup, 1 Johan Cruyff Shield
Juventus: 2 Serie A titles
Inter Milan: 3 Serie A titles, 2 Italian Super Cup
Barcelona: 1 La Liga titles, 2 Spanish Super Cup, 1 UEFA Super Cup, 1 Club World Cup
AC Milan: 1 Serie A, 1 Italian Super Cup
PSG: 4 Ligue 1 titles, 2 French Cup, 3 French League Cup, 3 French Super Cup
Manchester United: 1 Community Shield

Ibrahimovic also joined the list of United players to have scored on their debut in the Community Shield.

 

After the game Ibrahimovic revealed that he was delighted to have won his 31st trophy and that he hopes this is the start of what is set to come.

‘This is my 31st trophy, collective trophy, and I’m super happy. This is why I came and hopefully I can win much more than this. It’s a good start,” Ibrahimovic was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

‘It was a difficult game, we play against a good team, the champions from last season. Our team has something big going on, it’s a good start.”

Ibrahimovic also praised the team spirit and his teammates as well as head coach Jose Mourinho for the work put in.

‘I feel very good. The team is fantastic, good team-mates, good spirit, good professional players and the coach – he wants to win and does everything to win,” he added.

The Red Devils take on Bournemouth next at Dean Court on Saturday 14 August in their first Premier League match of the season.
