Liverpool have been given another day to decide the future of their Brazilian international midfielder Lucas Leiva.

The Turkish giants Galatasaray have extended their deadline on negotiations by another day. Gala sporting director Levent Nazifo?lu made a statement regarding Lucas during Cavanda’s signing ceremony.

Nazifo?lu stated that Liverpool have until the end of Tuesday to make a decision regarding Lucas’ transfer.

The Liverpool Echo state that the deal has been delayed because Klopp wants assurances that defensive cover will be brought in should Lucas leave.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are facing of a defensive crisis with Mamadou Sakho, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all out injured. To make matters worse Martin Skrtel recently joined Fenerbahce and Kolo Toure parted ways with the club over the summer.
