Arsenal face competition for £30m striker who scored just 4 goals last season

Arsenal are preparing a £30 million offer for Manchester City forward Wilfried Bony according to the Daily Star.

The report claims that Bony is almost certain to leave the Premier League giants after being left out of the Champions League play-off squad ahead of the clash against Romanian outfit Steaua Bucharest.

The Ivory Coast international did not feature against Arsenal in their recent pre-season friendly on Sunday either despite being fit the play which was another signal that head coach Pep Guardiola has no plans for Bony this season.

The North London based outfit could however, face competition from Galatasaray for Bony’s signature as the Lions want the powerful striker on a one-year loan a source close to the club told Emre Sarigul.

Galatasaray are currently restructuring their squad after being banned from European competition for one season due to breaching FFP rules.

The Lions would be interested in taking Bony off City’s hands for a season and he does have another three years remaining on his contract.

Bony highly rated during his time at Swansea but has managed to find the net just 10 times for City including only four Premier League goals over the last league campaign.
