Granit Xhaka, who joined Arsenal from Borussia Monchengladbach this summer has heaped praise on his teammate Mesut Ozil.
The 23-year-old has stated that Ozil is the best number 10 in football at the moment and cannot wait to play alongside him this season.
Xhaka joined Arsenal from Monchengladbach earlier this summer for a fee in the region of £30 million according to SkySports.
“I don’t know a better No.10 than Mesut,” Xhaka stated when asked about Ozil by Arsenal’s official website.
“He’s very important for this team, as he’s shown in the past. He has his qualities, he’s something special and I hope he shows that next season.
“He’s played for Germany, for Real Madrid and is a terrific player. He’s got an excellent final pass and a superb first touch.
“I’m definitely looking forward to playing alongside him.”
Xhaka moved to Monchengladbach from FC Basel where he spent 10 years. The 23-year-old won two Swiss league titles during his time at Basel.
The Switzerland international made over 100 Bundesliga appearances for Monchengladbach and scored six goals. Mesut Ozil is a doubt for Arsenal’s Premier League opener against Liverpool at the Emirates on Sunday, kick-off is at 16:00 (GMT).
