Arsenal have struck a deal with Valencia’s star defender Shkodran Mustafi according to a report in The Sun.

Per-the-source, the Gunners have reached an agreement with the 24-year-old who featured for Germany at Euro 2016 however, are yet to agree a transfer fee with the La Liga giants.

Mustafi’s agent Ali Bulut also confirmed to the German outlet Spox that an agreement with Arsenal had been reached.

“It now just remains for the teams to come to an agreement over the fee,” Bulut told Spox.

The Sun states that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made the signing of Mustafi a priority this summer and wants the deal concluded before the new Premier League season kicks off.

The French tactician is currently facing a crisis in defence following an injury to Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny on extended leave after Euro 2016.

Both have been ruled out for Arsenal’s opener against Liverpool while Gabriel is also struggling for fitness.

Mustafi provided two assists and scored two goals in 44 appearances for Valencia last season.
