Both sides got their season’s off to opening day wins, with Norwich smashing a poor Blackburn side 1-4 away at Ewood Road, while Sheffield Wed pulled off an impressive one nil victory over newly relegated Aston Villa.
Both sides are fancied to do well this season and push for title honours, so this could already be a pivotal game so early in the season.
The Canaries have kept more or less the same side as last season, with only Nathan Redmond the most notable abstentee, leaving for Premier League Southampton for £10m.
Alex Neil has managed to keep hold of the bulk of his strike force and there are definite goals in the side, especially at this level, with the side boasting players of real Premier League pedigree in Cameron Jerome, Wes Hoolahan & Steven Naismith, who all found the net on the weekend.
Sheffield Wednesday are no mugs themselves, Carlos Carvalhal continuing where they left last season and securing a neat 1-0 victory over Aston Villa.
New signing Steven Fletcher suffered a horrific cut to his head midweek against Cambridge Utd in the Cup, but the former Wolves striker should be fit for tonight’s match, while former Norwich old boy Gary Hooper should start for the Owls tonight.
Norwich vs Sheffield Wed Match Odds
There’s some definite valeu around the championship so far this season, with bookmakers offering some juicy odds. We’re definitely siding on the Norwich home win here, which is available at around evens.
Alex Neil has managed to keep the bulk of his Premier League squad from last season, and the Canaries could well have too much firepower for plenty of sides in the coming months.
For a bit more value, that Norwich attacking line looks full of goals we’re throwing in the Over 1.5 goals to the bet, which boosts the price to a tasty looking 9/5.
Both sides will have successful season this year, but its Norwich which should notch up an opening home win to get their season off to the perfect start at a very handy price.
