Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger lashes out at fans following shock home defeat to Liverpool

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is on the back foot following the Gunners 4-3 defeat at the hands of Liverpool yesterday afternoon.

The experinced manager vented his frustrations after the match which included a dig at impatient Arsenal fans.

“You are talking about the fans, but if you want to make everybody happy, then just buy 20 players and then everybody is full of hope until the first game,” Wenger was quoted as saying at the post-match press conferance by the Mirror.

And then we are back to reality.”

One journalist questioned Wenger about Manchester City and United’s spending over the summer and here is how the French tactician responded:“Yes, and they signed a lot of players the year before as well.

“What is new makes news. But, apart from that, it makes noise. But the noise is not always quality.”

Arsenal went into the game amid an injury crisis which has seen Per Mertesacker be ruled out for over four months, Gabriel suffer a knee injury and Laurent Koscielny miss out due to a lack of fitness.

The Gunners take on last season’s Premier League champions Leicester City as they look get back to winning ways.

The Mirror goes onto state that Arsene Wenger is intent on biding his time in the transfer market and refuses to buy for the sake of it.
