Barcelona boss Luis Enrique have given Arda Turan a new lease of life at Barcelona following a disastrous first season at the Camp Nou according to the Spanish outlet Sport.
Per-the-source, the report goes onto state that Enrique will deploy Turan on the wings this season, rather than the central midfield position he played last season.
Turan endured a turbulent first season after making a move to Barcelona from rivals Atletico Madrid.
The Turkish international was unable to make his debut for his first six months at due to a transfer ban imposed on the club by UEFA. The 29-year-old subsequently struggled to reach full match fitness in the closing months of the league.
Turan went onto have a poor Euro 2016 tournament with the Turkish national team and was heavily criticised after Turkey were eliminated in the group stages.
The 29-year-old was linked with a move to the Premier league duo Arsenal and Chelsea last month by the Sun. However, Sport state that Luis Enrique hasn’t given up on Turan and called him back from his summer holiday to begin training early ahead of the upcoming season.
