Liverpool transfer news: Reds target Netherlands international to solve crisis in defence

Liverpool are preparing a move for the Netherlands international defender Bruno Martins Indi according to the Mirror.

Per-the-source the Reds is keen on the versatile defender who can play at both left-back and at centre back. The German tactician is understood to be looking for options at left back following criticism of left-back Alberto Moreno’s recent form.

Klopp also wants additional options at centre-back following the departure of Martin Škrtel and with Mamadou Sakho’s future in doubt.

Martins Indi joined Porto from the Eredivisie side Feyenoord in 2014 for £6.5million. The 24-year-old has two years left on his contract with the Portuguese giants and has over 30 caps for his country.

Liverpool recorded a 4-3 victory over Arsenal  in their opening game of the 2016-17 Premier League season last weekend however, the Reds looked  shaky in defence as Moreno had another torrid game.

The Merseyside club take on the newly promoted side Burnley in their second league game of the season.
