Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has made the signing of Ricardo Rodriguez  from Wolfsburg a top priority according to The Sun.

The report states that Rodriguez is desperate to leave Wolfsburg this summer however, the Bundesliga club are not willing to let him leave for cheap. Chelsea’s quest to sign the Switzerland international has been made more difficult after his £21.5 million release clause expired in July.

The Swiss outlet Blick also  state that Chelsea are readying a bid for the 23-year-old. Chelsea are in need of a new left-back after letting letting Nathan Ake and Baba Rahman leave on loan earlier this summer.

Per-the-source, Wolfsburg are unlikely to let Rodriguez leave cheaply following interest from Manchester City. The Switzerland international’s current contract with Wolfsburg expires in 2019.

Chelsea are also interested in signing the Napoli’s star defender Kalidou Koulibaly according to The Sun. The Blues take on Watford in their second game of the Premier League season this weekend.
