Tottenham transfer news: £18m winger on Pochettino’s radar as race is on to seal signing ahead of deadline

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly weighing up a move for Dynamo Kiev star Andriy Yarmolenko ahead of the deadline later this month.

Not content with the attacking options currently at his disposal, the Argentine tactician will look to bolster his squad further after having already secured the signings of Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen this summer.

According to The Sun, Yarmolenko is now on his radar after continuing to impress for both Dynamo and Ukraine in recent years.

In truth, given the talent that the 26-year-old possesses, it’s a surprise that he hasn’t earned a move to a bigger club in Europe sooner.

The left-footed wizard scored 19 goals and provided 13 assists in 34 appearances in all competitions last season, and has seemingly picked up from where he left off this year with two goals in as many games to start the new campaign.

In turn, Pochettino would certainly be adding a decisive figure in the final third to his squad, but it remains to be seen how real his interest is and whether or not a deal can be reached between now and the end of the month.

Spurs have started the new Premier League season in solid fashion as they followed up their draw away at Everton with a win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, although they do arguably still need more clinical play up front and will look to continue to try and put options around Harry Kane for the rest of the season.
