Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that he is hopeful that Mesut Ozil will feature for the Gunners’ encounter with Watford FC this weekend.

The north London based side have gotten off to a slow start of the season after picking up just one point from their opening two games.

Speaking after last weekenks goalless draw with last seasons Premier League champions Leicester City, Wenger stated that he is confident that Ozil playmaker will be ready to start.

“Giroud does not look completely ready physically but that should improve every week now. Ozil I think as well, one more week will get them closer,” Wenger told Arsenal’s official website.

The 27-year-old missed the first game of the season which saw the Gunners lost 4-3 against Liverpool at the Emirates.

Ozil came on in the  second half against the Foxes but was unable to provide his first assist of the season. The Germany international star provided 19 assists in the Premier League last season and was widely regarded as the Gunners player of the season despite.
